Jason spent 8 glorious years as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps leading Marines in close combat training, infantry tactics, physical fitness, and recruit training. After his tour with Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children, he became disgruntled with his nasty civilian ways and began searching for a fitness program to keep him mentally and physically stimulated enough to engage his otherwise random, energetic personality. Initially, he cherry picked his Crossfit WODs from the .com site, but after an incident involving Sumo Deadlift High Pulls, a live chicken, a tub of butter, and a night in the hospital, he wanted to join an affiliate. He found Crossfit Cedar Park and came in for the Baseline WOD with Nikki Isbell. His 5:48 time was average, but the ensuing headache, the 25 minutes of laying on the floor in front of a disgusted Nikki, and the subsequent pavement pizza he made in the parking lot convinced him that he should sign up for classes. Now, he’s in as good, if not better, shape than he was 10 years ago as a Marine. He holds a Crossfit Level I Certification and is scheduled to earn his Olympic Lifting Certification in Sept 2010. He competed in the 2010 Crossfit Regional competition with the Crossfit Cedar Park Affiliate Team in Ft.Worth, TX. He currently coaches some classes for the Tillmans, and has helped them coach National Guard troops at Camp Mabry.
