Michael Ray Tillman, PT, DPT, Cert.MDT, CSCS, Crossfit Level 1
One of the practice owners, Michael Ray Tillman, DPT was raised in San Antonio, Texas where his family roots have been established for approximately 80 years. He graduated from The University of Texas in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy from Hardin-Simmons University in 1999 then his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009. He is certified in the McKenzie method for both spine and extremities. Michael is married to Keisha has 2 children and enjoys tennis and movies.
Kelly Chance, MSPT
Kelly Chance is a licensed physical therapist who has been practicing in Austin since 2003. She is a graduate of Texas State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Administration and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She has experience as the director of an outpatient clinic and has vast knowledge with orthopaedic problems of the spine and extremities. She specializes in the pre/post-operative treatment of patients and planning for their return to sports.
Kelly has 2 children and enjoys family time as well as outdoor adventures including camping and fishing.
Heather Amitrani, MSPT
Heather Amitrani attended Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science. In 2009 she finished graduate school receiving a Masters of Physical Therapy Degree from Texas State University. She is a member of The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Heather initially became interested in becoming a physical therapist after tearing both ACLs while playing soccer in high school. The injury was tough to overcome but she was able to go on to play D1 college soccer with no further problems. Currently she stays in shape by attending the Crossfit classes that are offered at Tillman PT and plans on getting her level 1 Crossfit certification along with a nutrition certification.
Heather enjoys spending time with friends and family in her spare time. She also enjoys outdoor activities including camping, skiing, and spending time on the beautiful lakes in Austin Texas. Favorite sports teams include LSU football (my husband kicked for LSU so I am a Tiger by marriage, if you are or know someone who went to LSU you understand the passion they have), Texas Tech football, Dallas Cowboys, and the Yankees.
Since graduating, Heather has continued to enhance her knowledge of patient care by attending the McKenzie Institute and plans on getting certification for Mechanical Diagnosis of the Spine in the next year. She truly enjoys helping those who need help getting back to daily life free of pain or limitations.
Cheryl Faubion, DPT
Cheryl Faubion attended the University of Mississippi where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science. In 2008 she finished graduate school receiving a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Texas Tech Health Science Center. She is a member of The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and The McKenzie Institute, USA.
Cheryl’s passion for fitness and physical therapy stem from her experience as a collegiate track athlete and coach. During her four years at Ole Miss she ran numerous division one track meets in various events including sprints, relays, and hurdles. Cheryl has experienced the trials and tribulations of elite fitness and the difficulties that can come not only from athletic competition but daily activities as well when physically inhibited.
Cheryl enjoys time with friends and family along with many outdoor activities including camping, hiking, skiing, wakeboarding, and anything that allows her to enjoy the beautiful Texas weather.
As a physical therapist, Cheryl constantly strives to improve her knowledge and the quality of her physical therapy care. Specifically, she takes great pride in helping those who have experienced one of the more challenging hurdles an individual can encounter—injury that prevents one from enjoying a life free of restriction.
Lisa D’Andrade, OT, CHT
Lisa D’Andrade, OT CHT is an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. She graduated from Kansas Medical Center in 1993 with her occupational therapy degree and completed her hand certification in 2000. She owned her own hand clinic in California before moving to Texas with her husband and 3 children. Lisa joined Tillman Physical Therapy and Sports Training Center, Inc in 2008.
Karen Ayala, OT, CHT
Karen Ayala graduated from Radford University in Virginia in 1993 with a Bachelor Science degree in psychology. She went on to graduate school at Boston University, where she earned a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1996. Karen worked as an Occupational Therapist and Instrucor of Occupational Therapy in Miami, FL for 3 years before moving to northern CA in 2000. Karen completed her specialized training to become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2001. Karen moved to Austin in 2007, and has worked as a CHT at Tillman since 2009. In her spare time, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband Robert, and her 3 children. Karen is an avid runner and has completed several full and half marathons.
